A 501(c)3
approved Non-profit Organization
Mission
Statement
Annabelle's Angels was
created to honor the memory of Annabelle Riley Bryant. Annabelle
was tragically killed in a back over accident on May 4, 2005, she
was 2.5 years old. Her unconditional love and kindness prompted
us to start a charitable organization that gives back to the community.
Through safety education, the Angels mission is to prevent any further
tragedies involving non-traffic, non-crash motor vehicle related
accidents. Angels fundraising will be used in education efforts
as well as contributing to worthy children's charities in tribute
to and in memory of Annabelle.
Since this accident happened,
we have learned that back over accidents occur frequently. Every
week, at least 50 children are backed over in the U.S. It is our
hope that through Annabelle's Angels we will spread awareness of
back-over safety and lessen the number of accidents in Virginia.
It is with the continued support of
family and friends that we are able to get through the loss of our
child. We want to thank everyone for their support, their love,
and for continuing to remember sweet Annabelle.
Who are the Angels?
Annabelle's Angels was
first created by our close friend, Vanessa. She thought it would
be a great way to do nice things for others in Annabelle's name,
keeping her spirit alive. At our first gathering, we invited all
of my female friends and family, we had 35 to attend. We explained
our mission and plans to everyone and they all seemed gracious to
be involved. With their help, almost two years later, we have become
a growing non-profit organization that is becoming well known in
our community.
Annabelle's Angels is made up of about 64 ladies. Some
are career women, some are stay at home moms, and some are even
retired. We attend a monthly meeting where we focus on one organization
or place/persons of need to support. We also raise money by selling
the Rear View Safety Lens at local preschools and church groups.
We are always looking for ways to help others with all of the connections
we have among our group. We hope to continue to make a difference
for many years to come!
